HCL ME Tablets






HCL has launched three new Android tablets running on Android today, the tablet range starts at a highly affordable Rs. 14,990 for the 7-inch version, and goes up to Rs. 32,990 to the 10.1 inch version. These ME Tablets run on 2.2 Froyo, and are available in three variants -- HCL ME AE7 for economy users, HCL ME AM7 for mainstream users and HCL ME AP10 for performance-oriented users. The tablets should be available by the end of this month across the country, we take a closer look at their respective specs sheets:





The HCL ME AE7 has an 800 Mhz processor and 7-inch 800x480 pixel resolution display, we assume it is a resistive screen because the specs sheet would state otherwise. GPS, Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity aside, it has a USB port that can be used as a dongle for EVDO data cards, a AP10 and a 2400mAH battery. This Android 2.2 Froyo tablet is priced at Rs. 14,990.






The HCL ME AM7, priced at Rs. 25,790 runs on an unspecified 800 Mhz processor, 7-inch capacitive multitouch display, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Connectivity options include A-GPS, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, and 3G SIM card slot. The AM7 has a 1.3 megapixel camera, supports 1080p videos, and sports a 4200mAH battery. The tablet runs Android 2.2 Froyo, and has a microSD card slot that fits upto 16 GB of additional memory.



The HCL ME AP10 is a 3G tablet powered by a 1 GHz processor, a 10.1-inch display running at 1024x600 resolution and Android 2.2 Froyo. It has 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, with support for 32 GB microSD cards. Connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, the tablet can handle 1080p videos and integrates an HDMI port, it also has a USB 2.0 and Ethernet port. It's powered by a 3650mAH lithium polymer battery and is priced at Rs. 32,990.
